Welcome to March’s New Moon Nidra ritual 🌚

The New Moon is a time to draw inward. The March New Moon in Aries invites you to lean into new beginnings with courage and confidence. As the first sign in the Zodiac, Aries marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle.

This particular New Moon also coincides with a partial solar eclipse that will be visible from the Northeastern US and Canada, Greenland, Iceland, North Atlantic, the majority of Europe, and northwest Russia. In the Eastern Daylight Time zone, the eclipse will be visible from about 5am-8:45am, making for a fun sunrise! Unfortunately, I’ll be too far south in Washington D.C. to see it.

It feels fitting to be welcoming new beginnings as I embark on this new adventure as a family of five. But also, it feels fitting in this cultural moment that we embrace new beginnings, new adventures, new paths forward. Most importantly, we must draw some inspiration from Aries energy—namely, courage and confidence—to step forward into the unknown. To take risks from a grounded, intuitive space rather than to act impulsively. To stay aligned with our values and to stay connected to our communities.

Aries is a direct but authentic sign that encourages an assertive, take-charge attitude. This New Moon invites you to take action. Since New Moons are generally a time for quiet reflection, use the action-oriented energy of this New Moon cycle to reflect, contemplate, and plan so that when the next Full Moon rolls around, you’re ready to take action with confidence rather than (re)act impulsively. Remember, surrendering or letting go is also a form of action.

It may be finally time to let go of something that is no longer serving you in order to create space for something new, even if you are uncertain what that new thing may be.

Mother Moon and this community are all here to support you as you bravely act, try something new, and work to live more aligned with your True Self!

Below you will find a ritual for celebrating the New Moon in Aries.
