Yoga for menstruation —> motherhood —> menopause and beyond.
Yoga for Women’s Wellbeing supports women to feel their best throughout the cyclical transitions and seasons of their life.
Hello! My name is Ashley and I’m so grateful you’re here. Though I’ve been teaching yoga for over a decade, it wasn’t until I became a mother that I realized how ill-equipped the practice of modern postural yoga is at meeting the needs of women moving through menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, periomenopause, and menopause. This newsletter explores all aspects of yoga—philosophy, meditation, breathwork, mudra, and poses—that provide support as you cycle through your unique, womanly transitions.

About me
I’ve been teaching yoga for over a decade and writing since I could write. I’ve taught weekly classes, month-long series, workshops, trainings, retreats, and private sessions in yoga studios, gyms, spas, office buildings, and in people’s homes. I’ve taught all over the United States and internationally and I’ve trained dozens of yoga teachers. I’ve trained in Hatha, vinyasa, power, nidra, restorative, yin, therapeutic, meditation, and self-massage styles of yoga and have a passion for yoga philosophy, especially Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra.
Once I entered motherhood I realized that the yoga I had been practicing and teaching for over a decade no longer served me. After suffering from an ovarian cyst rupture, I dove headfirst into learning all about how yoga can specifically serve the needs of women in all our unique stages, cycles, and seasons, especially the most challenging ones. Life is my greatest teacher. I currently live with my husband, two children, and dog, Mandy, in Alexandria, VA.
What students say
“Ashley is a wise and gifted teacher. After working with Ashley for just four weeks, I have more flexibility in my spine and hips, and have strengthened my core muscles. The pain I have experienced in my neck and lower back is almost gone. I have been able to learn yoga poses in a way that is safe and healthy for my back and body. After each yoga lesson, I feel calm, centered, relaxed, nurtured, and energized.”
-Benta S., Licensed Professional Counselor
“Once I learned from Ashley, I really started to enjoy (LOVE actually) yoga. I walk away after a yoga class feeling refreshed and almost zen-like. Yoga has been great for me these past nine months – I’m hooked! I love working with Ashley.”
-Bridget S., Federal Employee
“Ashley taught me a precise breathing exercise in our first session that instantly calms me down, eases my nausea, and allows me a moment of stillness. I have used this while driving through DC rush hour traffic, as a passenger on an airliner, and to help quiet my thoughts so I can get a restful night’s sleep. I now also have the tools to help stretch and strengthen my muscles to keep me out of a cycle of pain, as well as the new body awareness and knowledge to help me prevent the pain. I have more control now. I do not feel hopeless.”
-Sara W., Graphic Designer
“After working with Ashley, I’m able to see things a little more clearly and I feel like yoga movements are an absolute for my daily routine.”
-Sandra D., Federal Employee
“Ashley just makes so much sense. Ashley has the knowledge and expertise to design postures, stretches, and exercises that specifically address my issues. I feel that my body is learning new ways to move and rest, and the changes are really making a difference. I feel grounded in a way that I have never felt before, and I am sure that I am less likely to fall since working with Ashley. Her comprehensive understanding of how bodies work allow her to see where the body is troubled, and she is inventive in designing exercises and other remedies. I also love the fact that she is happy to explain exactly what she is doing and why, so that I can use my brain to help my body!”
