Celebrating one year on Substack
A year-in-review of Yoga for Women's Wellbeing plus what's coming in 2025
One year and 5 days ago I published my first post on Substack. My original intention was to create a unique online space where I could teach yoga and write. The shape of this space is evolving—evolution is a natural part of growth—but no matter where we end up you can be certain that I’ll always show up here to support and encourage you on your path. It’s becoming more clear how I can best support women through their natural life transitions with the wisdom of yoga and I’m excited to keep doing more of that work in the years to come.
Yoga for Women’s Wellbeing welcomed 80 women into the community this past year—we’re now a community of almost 700 women from around the world!
A heartfelt thank you for trusting me with your email address, welcoming my work into your inbox, and engaging with yoga wisdom. A deep bow of gratitude for participating in the comments, sending me text messages about the weekly posts, replying to my emails, and sharing my work on Substack and with your colleagues, friends, and family. I always hope these weekly posts provide a respite from the exasperating to-do’s, bills, ads, and sales that stack up in your inbox.
Thank you from the cave of my heart to the paid subscribers who have handed over your credit cards. It means the world to me to get the privilege to share yoga wisdom with you. Your financial support is a true gift.
Here’s a little year-in-review in case you missed anything, plus a preview of what’s to come in 2025.
What I shared with you in 2024
🌕A live Full Moon Yoga Class each month + replays available to all paid subscribers.
Full Moon Yoga classes are free for paid subscribers or you can drop-in any month. Shout out to my regulars Glenna, Shelvie, and Deegi! I look forward to teaching this class every month because of your dedication and commitment to this practice.
I invite you to attend December’s Full Cold Moon Yoga Class on Sunday evening, Dec. 15. This will be a year-end Full Moon/Winter Solstice celebration. Wrap up in a cozy blanket, sip peppermint hot chocolate or your favorite warm beverage, and practice warming, nurturing, feel-good, soul-soothing gentle yoga and meditation in the good company of your fellow yoginis. The replay will be available to paid subscribers if you can’t make it live.
🧘🏻♀️ 18 yoga practices including:
A delightful restorative practice for the New Moon or during your menstrual cycle
A simple morning practice
A few practices to include in a Full Moon or New Moon ritual
🚺 Yoga tips for navigating women’s health experiences including:
🎙️ 8 interviews with inspiring women on being well including
’s advice for staying well as you age and ’s advice for being well while parenting young children.🧐 The introduction/return of my Yoga Sutra Series featuring yogic wisdom applied directly to daily life from a mother’s perspective. Yoga philosophy—historically an exclusive, male-dominated tradition—offers deep wisdom to guide us through life’s natural, womanly transitions. I’m here to bridge the gap between ancient esoteric philosophy and contemporary, real-world strategies for dealing with life’s toughest moments.
What’s next
2025 will be a big year. Baby Z31 is due to arrive in early March. There will be a figuring-out period where I cocoon myself in baby-world, singularly-focused on mothering (this, by the way, is yoga practice too 🧘♀️ 👩🏻🍼).
I’ll take a short break to honor the transition but remain committed to showing up for you consistently. I’ll connect with paid subscribers during the months following Z3(PO)’s birth with a goal to publish free posts again in the fall. If you want to get exclusive updates (including pics!), practices to support you through Spring and Summer, and access to me from March-October, please upgrade to a paid subscription.
Here’s what’s coming in 2025:
More applied philosophy from the ancient texts to help you integrate universal wisdom into your daily life
Monthly moon gatherings to reconnect with your intentions, realign with your values, and reset your nervous system
Seasonal, nature-inspired practices to keep you grounded and connected to your authentic Self (we’ll need all the grounding we can get in 2025…)
More interviews with inspiring women to remind you that living and feeling well is doable even when it feels impossible
More yoga practices for specific women’s health experiences to support you during your natural life transitions.
If there is any specific topic you’re ever interested in learning more about, please reach out.
